A worldwide footwear distributor in the South had several goals when deciding to implement this Marq Solution. They were currently hand stitching boxes throughout the facility with high maintenance on each of these machines.

Daily production of 5000-10000 boxes overall, with 3000 being the large box intended for automation, taking upward of 16 people to complete a days worth of erecting boxes. Space constraints on the boxes traveling through their facility on existing conveyor system of over 850M square feet, if the top flaps are in the up position. Replenishing boxes out of the warehouse, with limited space.
By implementing a lock bottom and reducing case sizes in the small range they were able to open up needed warehouse space, this was further enhanced by strategic production and warehousing plans with corrugated supplier. With the larger box that was not conducive to a lock bottom format they implemented the Marq Solution. This solution provided all the set up to utilize this style of carton, deliver down the limited space through the conveyor, even being able to deliver to an upper mezzanine for their pick and pak. By utilizing Marq Automation, they were able to reduce 16 people for overall case erection down to 7, providing less than a 16-month payback on this Solution. After all startup was completed this payback was enhanced by a reduction of 70-80% maintenance time in comparison to the numerous stichers.
