This customer makes bakery products for domestic and international distribution. Plant production operates 5 days a week, 24 hours a day with 3 shifts per day. Production requirements involved 6 employees (two per shift) hand forming cases throughout the day. Automatic case erecting was an obvious choice, so they proceeded to investigate their options.
Specific Requirements:
¨ They needed a consistent and economically feasible method of case erecting that could reduce the manpower necessary to form their cases so that the labor could be redistributed.
¨ Space restrictions within the manufacturing plant would also limit their decision to manufactures that had an efficient enough design to work within the small footprint they required.
They attended the, Chicago based, Pack Expo Trade Show with the intention of finding automation equipment for their plant. After exploring the numerous manufactures of packaging equipment at the show, it was evident that MARQ equipment would satisfy their demand for durable, low maintenance equipment that had an efficient footprint for their limited space. MARQ had the "sturdiest, most durable equipment for the price" with a smaller footprint than any other machine they would have considered.

They knew that payback would occur within one year of implementation and have subsequently bought several case erectors from MARQ.
