Q-PacQ Automatic Case Sealer

The Q-Paq system is a complete packaging line comprised of a case erector bottom sealer, conveyor with packing station, and top case sealer.

The case erector contains three significant sections within the machine. First, the dribble-feed shuttle hopper drops one case at a time onto the guide rails below. A chain-mounted lug indexes the case to the second station where it is erected and the bottom minor flaps are folded and held. As the case moves into the taping station, the bottom major flaps are folded and the case is driven past the taping head. Lastly, the erected case is discharged from the machine onto a conveyor system and taken to the packing station where each case can be filled before entering the top-sealing portion.

The side-lug drive top case sealer with raised side-lug drive automatically folds all four top flaps and seals the case. The filled case comes down the conveyor to the infeed gate, and the gate drops allowing the case to enter the machine. Once the case is in the machine, the gate returns to its original position to prevent double feeding of cases. A side lug drive moves the case through the sealer, where guide rails center it before the top major flaps are folded and sealed with pressure-sensitive tape. The sealed case then exits the machine, ready to be palletized.

Since we have installed the MARQ Case Erector, we've experienced a machine with consistent trouble free case erecting, which which effectively eliminated some additional manual labor costs. Some corrugated is used up to three times over and the MARQ HPE215 runs the corrugated through consistently with few jams. We were in need of a case erector to increase productivity, and the MARQ solution was the ultimate product choice. None of the other machine manufacturers we investigated would guarantee performance with "used boxes".
